I made a custom pants form with lots of help from hubby (actually he did all of the work I just stood as still as a statue for over an hour). After doing some research and reading several reviews, I decided that a pinnable, custom-made dress/pants form would be my best option. During my research, I learned about the My Twin dress form and ordered the instruction booklet from the company's website. Unfortunately, it appears the company is no longer in business. However, similar instructions that detail this process can be found here.

The plaster cast taped together at the sides before being filled with 2-part expanding foam. |
Wow! Ive git to look into this! Great job.
ReplyDeleteI hope to make a pants form like yours, but I can't figure out how you cut it. The pictures look like it was just cut up the sides. How did you get it off your body? The finished project looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's cut up the sides then removed from the body.
Deleteplaster can heat up after water is added. how do you protect the skin?
ReplyDeleteplaster can heat up when water is added. how do you protect the body? I have wanted to do a form but am afraid of the potential for injury.
ReplyDeleteI used this product ArtMinds Plaster Wrap (4"x180") sold at Michael's Crafts and did not have any issues. I also had 2 oscillating fans near just in case I needed them.
ReplyDeleteDid you hang it? How, and from what?
ReplyDeleteI used an L-bracket and other hardware purchased at the local home improvement store to attach it to the wall.
